We are happy to inform you that we have released the project publication entitled Corporate Foresight Potential in Visegrad (V4) Countries. The main purpose of this publication is to present the results of the research project Mobilizing corporate foresight potential among V4 countries. The monograph is addressed to business representatives, foresight practitioners and researchers as well as decision-makers and all interested in corporate foresight.
From the reviewer:
“…the use of corporate foresight could open the way for small as well as large business to play their role as critical change actors, in creating value, providing employment, optimally managing resources, and generating innovation. In these dynamics we can definitely identify a key driver for foresight-explored strategic change – a clear outcome from the book in question (...) Overall, the present book constitutes a very interesting, useful and innovative publication, being in itself a strategic change factor. We look forward to its continuation with the publication of fresh research results of the participants and their networks.”

Abstract
In the face of accelerated change and genuine uncertainties in the business environment as well as the need of processing and interpreting the information coming from majority of sources, foresight research in the enterprises comes into prominence. The main aim of the article is to assess foresight maturity of companies based in Podlaskie province in Poland as one of the least developed regions in Europe. The survey research is preceded by bibliometric analysis and literature review to examine current tendencies in foresight research in organisations. The conclusions drawn from the analysis of the existing works on organizational foresight are that foresight is no longer referred to only as a portfolio of methodologies through which organizations may garner a broader vision and probe the future to ascertain potential competitive landscapes but also as a human or organisational competence. Therefore, the research is based on a foresight maturity model developed by Grim (J Futur Stud 13(4):69–80,2009 ). The model, besides traditionally associated foresight components such as environmental scanning, takes into consideration such aspects as leadership, collective vision building, and planning. Pilot survey research carried out among 134 production and services enterprises based in the Podlaskie region has allowed us to state that the companies are characterised by low foresight maturity levels. Hence, based on a literature review, two management concepts are suggested as means to increase the level of foresight maturity in companies.

From the preface
The objective of the research has been to show what paradigms have developed in the futures field, what characterises the paradigm shift and the futures field that has surpassed the paradigm shift, and how the futures field can develop and be developed paradigmatically. I have achieved this objective within the frameworks of a metatheoretical framework. (..) This book gives an account of this method development and the results of the meta-analysis that applies further developed methodology. Chapter one presents the elaboration of the meta-analytical methodology further developed for the analysis of the complex dynamics of paradigms for futures field. Chapter two and chapter three contain the reconstruction of paradigms for futures field and the systematic construction of their paradigm matrices. Chapter four covers the dynamic and comparative analysis of paradigms for futures field. Chapter five moving through the analysis of possibilities of further changes in paradigms, more specifically the possible and implementable paradigmatic interpretation of integral futures, gets to drawing the complex dynamic paradigm map of paradigms for futures field. Finally, I have summed up the contribution of paradigms and paradigm shifts to the development of the futures field, workability of the developed complex meta-analytical procedure and possible ways of using the results in practice and further developing them. foresight maturity in companies.

Judit Gáspár (2015), How future is being constructed in the corporate strategy-making practice?, Ph.D. dissertation, Institute of Business Economics Department of Decision Sciences.
From the introduction:
My thesis aims at revealing the relationship of corporate strategy-makers, of strategic decision-makers, to time and to the future. My central question is how the various individual interpretations of the future become accepted, adopted, shared by a group of corporate strategy-makers, by an organisation, and how the interpretation of the time and of the future can be traced in the everyday practice of strategy-makers. Besides the analysis of the process, I am also interested in the content of their visions of the future, that is, my goal is to investigate “what kind of future is being created” in addition to the question “how.” In this context I want to disclose how the expansion of the range of strategy-makers (of stakeholders involved in decision-making) affects the (interpretation) content of the unfolding (i.e. continuously created, developing, changing) common future. foresight maturity in companies.
